Into The New Internet Ministry

I don't like God's plan... it all came so fast. The internet ministry was supposed to start in September, but God bulleted the process to now. The first campus evangelistic website was birthed within a week... EveryStudent.com/SG

If you type "EveryStudent.com" on Google, somehow it still directs you to Singapore version of EveryStudent.com website. Do enjoy the articles and feedback accordingly.

Parents Of 2nd Korean Hostages Killed Donated Son's Body

Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future.

Caught this from a short video I watched... it claimed to be written in the final journal entry of Mary Karen Read, a victim of Virginia Tech shooting tragedy. Google on the internet, and was found to be quoted by Paul Boese. Will do some more search to know who this guy was.

Facts Of Prayer Life Of Korean Christians

Most Korean Christians I met at CM2007 are unbelievably prayerful and their devotion towards God. Here are some more observations about the Korean Christians:
1. They woke up as early as between 5 - 7am to pray mostly in groups. I was awakened by the loud prayers of a pastor wife at 4am during a rural mission.
2. Most churches had morning praying meetings between 4 - 5am on Sunday before the start of the main service.
3. Korean CCC "forbids" their students to have BGR until their final year or have graduated from university. What surprised me is that the students are willing to wait until graduation to be involved in BGR, and choose to concentrate on their relationship with God first.
4. It's common for students do their quiet time together, and we did our quiet time together with them during the rural mission, mediating on the same Scripture passages.
5. They build prayer houses for prayer meetings.
6. When they pray, they really pray and intercede with loud voices, passions and even shed tears.

No wonder Korea has been so blessed by God. There are so many passionate prayerful believers in this land.

Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

I can't believe I title this blog... but I really miss her.

I wonder why I couldn't miss God as much as I miss her. Taking God for granted again. The human need for love is so immense. No wonder if I look to other thing or person (outside God) for love, the human heart can never be satisfied.

I pray that I would learn to miss God again. Missing the sweet intimacy with Him, missing the joy of knowing Him... I want to pick up my first love for God again.

6GB Zen MP3 Player For $120

I'm selling away my MP3 player which I bought in last September. Didn't really get to use it at all, and still have the original pack as good as new. It comes with a 12-month warranty. Do reply me if you are interested to buy.

Handphone Lost

I wasn't very much pained by the loss of my Nokia 6280 in Malaysia during my church camp. It was just a lot of hassle having to cancel the line and getting a new SIM card once I got back to Singapore. Believe it was stolen, but I couldn't remember where I last saw it.

So my friends out there, be patient with me if I couldn't reply your sms on time. Thank God that I still have your numbers on my laptop when I synchronized with my handphone with my laptop.

Interview For (Possibly) A New Ministry

Not sure what my future will hold for the next one year or perhaps two years. Pray that whatever the outcome, I would learn to submit to the leadership. They have to consider not only my preference for a ministry, but they have to think for the good of the whole organisation. That's what leaders have to wrestle with.

It's easy to blog it out here... but may God give me the humility to accept His portion for my life.

88 Ways To Praise A Child

Took a photo of this poster... Think it would help us to know how to encourage our young cousins and also those who are in need of encouragement.

So Much Pains

God really brought me to feel the pains of many people around me lately. It was a sad thing to see their pains, and they struggled so much. What was more upsetting is that I could not relate to their pains.

These are some pains:
  • Pains of losing a loved one
  • Pains of being misunderstood by people
  • Pains of being hurt by love ones
  • Pains of disappointment with God
  • Pains of being felt abandoned
Am I having such a good and stable life that I cannot comprehend pains? I find it scary to pray that God would help me to feel their pains. So so scary...

Passion Camp With Passionate Freshmen

It's been great calling up freshmen to form the Passion Camp Committee. Hope that the Passion Camp (11-13 June) will equip our crusaders in conversation evangelism and personal evangelism skills especially the freshmen. The freshmen I called up were all very positive. Didn't have to convince them to join the camp committee. One of them cannot join, but she really wanted to help in the camp. Although she cannot join us, she wanted to come for the training on the 2nd day to be trained. That's really an outstanding attitude! Thank God for these freshmen :)

Choosing The Next Path

Just when I begin to like SP ministry... another ministry opportunity pops up!

"Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD ?
He will instruct him in the way chosen for him." - Psalm 25:12

Whatever ministry I choose, I pray that God will direct me to the choice which will most glorify Him. It's simple to say now, but I trust that God will give me the moral courage to choose rightly.

Would The Lord Feel Welcome At Crossroads?

We started our first Crossroads ministry gathering on Tuesday, 8th May 2007. Much preparation had been poured in to make that first impression for the freshmen.

A thought came into my mind when we prayed before the start of Crossroads... Would the Lord feel welcome at our gathering?

I've to admit it might be ra-ra hyperactive fun time to capture the audience attention, but the focus is not on the Lord. The Crossroads meeting became a mean to glorify the cause of Campus Crusade, and making sure the crusaders and freshmen wanted to join us again in the next Crossroads. After this thought, I prayed that the Lord will indeed feel welcome, and that we will minister to the Lord first, rather than men.

It was that prayer moment that I don't really care how many people came to Crossroads, but would the Lord be honoured and pleased with our service. Many freshmen and seniors did come, but the heartful service of the Crossroads Team matters more to me than the good turnout. It was beautiful seeing them serving with joy unto the Lord. It was simply beautiful :)

Never Done This Before

Done two unthinkable things today (3rd May):
1. Asked Fiona to skip DG (with Priscilla) and have a good rest.
2. Watched "Band of Brothers" during DG (discipleship group) time, and we didn't talk about Bible stuff.

It's NOT UK Fun Fair

Think got the Fun Fair name wrong... should be called Uncle Ringgo Fun Fair. Btw it has started operation.

Fighting Back (For Masculinity)!

"Blaine, look at me." He raised his tearful eyes slowly, reluntantly. There was shame written all over his face.

"I want you to listen very closely to what I am about to say. The next time that bully pushes you down, here is what I want you to do - are you listening, Blaine?"

He nodded, his big wet eyes fixed on mine.

"I want you to get up... and I want you to HIT him... as HARD as you possibly can."

A look of embarrassed delight came over Blaine's face. Then he smiled.

- From the book "Wild At Heart". (I really wanted to pick up a fight after reading that.)

UK Funfair @Woodlands

UK Funfair is here again at Woodlands. It's just near the Woodlands MRT. I think it will be there for at least a month.

35 Persons Per Day Know Jesus Through This Website

Good question:
How to Receive Jesus Christ?

And a few tough ones:
1. Why Jesus did not save himself by coming down from the cross?
2. How did all the religions and the numerous gods come about?
3. Is the Bible God's Word?
4. How Did all the Races and Languages Originate?

Want to know more answers to tough questions?

Restless and Rest-Less

Had a very rest-less week. Too much things on my mind:
1. Call up freshmen for DG.
2. Prepare and email bible study lesson plan to James.
3. Prepare message for RPCCC Freshmen Welcome Tea.
4. Plan for SPCCC Life Meetings.
5. Write conference report to Leslie.
6. Close account for mission trip (Not done).

Everything but spending time with God and pray is on my mind. That's why my heart felt so restless...

Btw can anyone tell me how to add taggies on my blog? Please advise :)

The Greater Challenge

"The greatest challenge is not the unreached people, but the unreached corners of our hearts."

Note this from the internet conference. Ponder it long enough, and you find it true but hard to swallow. Personally I had times masked my unyielding heart to God, and busied myself in God's work. Oh Lord, search my heart and test my thoughts daily lest my heart falls dull to Your voice!

Here're more photos of the BBQ...

SPCCC Freshmen BBQ

Guess the tradition water bombing is still as fun as ever..

Our very first Festival Of Praise (FOP) in Singapore Polytechnic. Do pray that it will not be an event making the Christians feel good about coming together to sing songs. Let it be a rallying call to worship God in this campus, and that our hearts will respond in bringing God the most glory.

Fresh Start For Ministry

Just came back from an AMAZING conference. It was about how to use internet to reach out to this IT savvy generation. Had a real life case study of the Virginia Tech tragedy during the conference. Actually hope it had not happened... but we see how VT students so quickly posted their stories on FaceBook website. We cannot deny the power of the internet ministry any longer.

Here's some links you can turn to for spiritual in light of VT tragedy:
